dnantha wrote:its a primative choke tensioning device. The kind Archamedes woul have used if he had a motocycle. It keeps my choke fully on till the motor gets warm. Not too fancy but it works. Today I bought a solex H30/31 PICT carb at a volkswagon specialty shop. Looks like Ill be trying a single carb set up this time round. Love to hear from others who have tried this.
Hi Dnantha

Maybe this will come in handy: The VW Carburetor
there's a piece about the H30/31.

Great looking machine you've got there !!!

I bought the mufflers at a garage sale for 5 dollers each. They have harly D, stamped on them. I dont knoww much more about them but dont think I did anything to make them fit. Perhaps I had to swage the opening just a bit, but my memory isnt too good I like how they sound. Not at all like a harley. If my machine sounded as bad as a harley Id fix it! Dan out

Some pics of my project:
www.monoshock.shutterfly.com

look in the "bikes" folder. Pics of my Chang and the goldwing which also has a CJ headlight. Dnantha did you get your Dneper from Lloyd at RAM? Used to work up the field from him (Boeing Field in Seattle) but I'm in Minnesota now. What kind of gas tank did you put on that thing?
Cheers
