Most Excellent!!! We also have been out and about for the last 10 days or so and have been wet more than not I think!! Friday and Saturday for Randakk's Rally both sucked but this morning the clouds broke and the ride home was simply Gorgeous
Good to see you and Ted out on the road again!!

Yeah, we haven't been on any kind of road trip for sometime. Seems like for the last year or so, 90+% of my road riding has been riding back/forth to work all the time. Only and infrequent short day trip. Ted and I have hauled our dirtbikes around for a few weekend long dual-sport rides, which was a blast.
A couple of things that made the ride a bit more pleasurable. Broke down a few days before we left and bought a Tourmaster Cruiser III large nylon bag.

Once adjusted, it just slips over the sissybar on the Valkyrie and a couple of quick-clips and its done. Stop for the night, realease the clips and lift it off and walk into the room. Probably the best thing on this trip was it had a zippered pouch that contained a tethered rain cover!!!!
Also broek down and replaced out radio system. In the past we have tried motorola walkabout radios and also a Chatterbox. They worked, but not that great. Wasn't real pleased with either system. FOund a good sale price on a set of Cardo Scala radios,

Very small compared to the old Chatterbox and quick and easy to mount. Best thing is they worked great. True duplex communications, crystal clear sound and the voice activation worked great. Automatically adjust themselves for road noise levels. With my convertible helmet, whether or not I had it opened up or closed, it was Ted said it sounded the same. They also worked fine thru all the downpours, just put a piece of good old duct tape over the power plug for safety. They also easily lasted the whole day on a recharge. No trying to figure out hand signals or trying to get the other guys attention with flashing lights, etc.

A good bike mechanic only needs two tools, WD40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move, but should, use the WD40. If it does move but shouldn't use the duct tape.
