Not usually. After you get the belts off you can look them over. Spin them by hand and see how they feel/sound. There are some here that have rebuilt them. I believe that is in the Shoptalk section. There is also a tutorial on the belt change there. Not hard to do. Justtake your time. Turn the engine over by hand after getting the new belts on.

I plan on changing my idlers when the engine goes back together. But mine are a bit sloppy.

As said before, nice looking bike.

And you know I hate you...right??

I'll admit it; I'm jealous! I like them stock like yours, but also appreciate the modified Cafe types. Oh heck, anything with two wheels and a motor still elevates my blood pressure. Keep posting on your progress.

Finally ordered some "superbike" bars today. Should be here by Thursday and hopefully on by next Sunday.

Will order my seat on Friday, so it will probably be the project for the weekend after. :orange

I like the idea of the paint scheme high gloss black w/ gold trim. I thought about something similar with gold wheel stripes. I think that would look sharp. anim-cheers1

check out the value of that exhaust first, they go for top dollar in good shape like those. More than you paid for the bike I bet.

Why does everyone keep saying that? :P

You guys are ruthless... :orange

I'm selling it for enough money to build the exhaust I want. That's enough for me.

datsunfreak you are doing a great job, did you see the Honda "racing bars" for sale in the forum's classifieds? You might wish to compare. Using Honda bars would be classy.

datsunfreak did you happen to see the photo of the Honda GB500 I posted a few weeks ago. That to me is the EPI-TOME of cafe styling. It was a stock TT bike built by Honda in the 80s. Just so pretty I'd marry it and take it home to mamma.
