Fred Camper wrote:Sweet looking build you have going. Did you do the Power Coating yourself or did you have a shop with a huge oven do it?
I had the powder done at a shop with a walk in oven. It's a one man shop and he does the sandblasting and powder himself so there is good attention to detail.

Very nice work. Keep it up!

I'm really glad you like it. Your bike gave me the inspiration to go with the ivory color.
Today was a red letter day...my seat from Corbin came in! It's everything I hoped it would be.
Here it is mounted, I couldn't resist putting it on for a while.
I also got the front forks back on along with the fender.

please keep up the good work.
That corbin seat is really something!

This would be a good time to eliminate the front brake splitter. A double banjo bolt at the front master cylinder is all that is required, and a brake bleed becomes so much easier. If the paint is well attached, not sure you need to strip. Others have had good results with caliper paint, so that seems like a good plan.

ditto on the paint is REALLY hard to get off calipers. Another suggestion. I have found speed bleeders make bleeding the brakes a LOT easier

I use Tal Strip arasol paint stripper on parts. You can pick it up at O' Rilleys for $7.99. Stuff works really great but wear protective gear, its strong stuff.

I like the idea of eliminating the splitter. Do you have a source or part number for the double banjo bolt and measurments for how long the hoses should be?
Beautiful project! I'm once again inspired by some really creative design color concepts. I have a similar project with a rebuild of my 77. My question is I'm looking to send out my frame and fenders to a powder coating shop. What's a thumb nail guesstimate of the costs for blasting and the powder coating?
