Apex? The "peak of good living" Apex? Dang, I was there yesterday helping my brother with a 73 Triumph Tiger he's looking to a frame-up restore on. He's going to be looking for a sandblaster/powdercoater this week for the frame. I don't have any experience with any but there's a bunch in the area and they all seem to have motorcycle parts on their webpages. I'm pretty sure Sagebrush took a frame to a local guy. I'll PM him to see how his experience was. On a side note, I just set up an old oven and got a p/c gun recently for the smaller bits. My results are firmly in the "spotty" category so far.

If you're ambitious you could pull the back cover to check clutch thickness and clean the stator and starter clutch dogs. You would need a rear cover gasket which can be made on your own. Check to see if the cover for turning the motor over on the rear of the stator is free. Seems a lot of them get bound up and then rounded off. Clean the oil screen. Check or replace neutral switch.
What he said!
Hope for the best, expect the worst and take what comes!
Tom, who runs it, happens to be a Triumph man. He has a couple of restored Triumphs on display, although he needed to dust them off the last time I was there. Turned out Randaak used him on his RC-100 project as well although I didn't know it at the time. I highly recommend them. And you won't have any problems with powder coat being where it shouldn't. "
We'll be heading there with our frame.

I will be checking them out today. Turns out they are in my fire district and I have been there before to have some fire department stuff worked on. I guess my old timers is kicking in again. Not a good sign for putting this thing back together!
On a different note, looks like a great day to work on the wing!

Here is a quick update, I have met with Tom at Carolina Custom Powder Coat and I was impressed. I was told a price that I thought was very reasonable, so tomorrow I will drop off the frame and the swing arm. He said it would be ready in a week. NICE!
So, I need to get the engine ready for paint, and check everything listed above. That will start tonight.
My son and I have discussed the color and he wants me to paint it orange to match the trailer. I guess fabricating a trailer hitch may be in my future as well. Who knows...
More photos to come as we move forward!

That certainly is a good turn around time for the frame. I just dropped off my frame and swing arm at the local lady, and she said about 2 weeks, which for her, I didn't think was to bad.
Here is a photo of the trailer that my son wants me to match. I built it two years ago to pull behind my Harley. I painted the frame, but after my discussion with Tom today, I may pull the box off and tweak the frame a little. Looking at down sizing the tires a little and reworking the fenders. Other than that, I am happy with it and it pulls great. I love the color and I think it will go good on the bike!

This was my first trailer for a motorcycle, and was a very interesting build. I enjoyed the process of the build, but I enjoy the reactions I get out in the real world with it more!
I have pulled it to different events and I have had a lot of inquiries. I have been asked how much it would cost to build one for someone if they wanted it. just the box alone is almost $1,000.00 and that is from Wal-Mart. By the time you factor in steel, axles, lights, paint, and my time, it adds up quick. I think I have close to $4,500 in this one as it sits, but I bought the box used. There is a story to that as well.

Ok, I am cleaning the shop tonight, getting ready to get started on the next level of the build. Here is a question, keep or sell the bags? I am not planning on using them ever again since I have a bagger. I also have a Vetter Fairing. I think this stuff needs to go so I have room for the next project. What do you guys and gals think?
