Thanks to all for the condolences... I loved him like a brother and he was one of the truly "nice guys" I've ever met... It's good to know that he's made friends all over the country. Ya couldn't help but like the guy. His Wing will be under my butt now...and I'm very much honored. I'm thinking of putting my speedometer on it (it and the tach are the only things I have left from mine after the wreck). I crashed due to my own stupidity...and I've learned that beer and biking don't go together...and because he replaced his speedo anyway, I'm hoping he wouldn't mind if I put mine on his bike and continued my journey. I'm glad that I got another chance...both in life (I got pretty banged up) and with Fewman's Wing.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss and the loss to the NGW comunity. I always hate to hear of anyone passing.
That said, I really can't help but think that someone as close to you as Fewman was would mind you doing what ever you wanted considering he left the GW to you. I know in my heart if that were the case with me I'd want you do whatever you wanted with his bike. Try not to feel guilty with things such as this. I know it's kind of hard though.
Best wishes for you and your lost brother.

Placerville wrote:This hurts. Fewman was such an important part of the NGW. I'm stunned at his passing and somewhat taken aback by the comments above regarding the purpose of the 'Honda' logos. When I replied to his thread saying that they were still available, I'd just purchased a set that day. After he bought his, I thought I'd pick up a couple more sets and put them away for the future but, I was told they were no longer available. I swear, he got the last set.
I thought the same thing when I read your post about where to get emblems, You just jumped in with a great lead not knowing what the search meant to him.

Fewman, May 19th, 2012 - "Guys, been away for a while taking care of a serious illness. I think I'm back but only time and God knows. At least back well enough to continue where I left off and get some grease under the fingernails. Don't sweat the little things, guys, take care and appreciate all that you have around you!"

I been surfing Fewmans old posts. Got his wing on the road in June of 2011 after an 8 year lay off. Just in time for the LTD migration.

Fewman's widow stopped by today and gave me these.... Fewman was going to have them sewn on a hat.

theoz49, my heart and thoughts go out to you, Fewman's widow and family, it sounds like he is someone I would have really liked to know. I am glad you shared your story of you two with us. It hits a little close to home for me, my cousin, who I grew up with lived across the road from me, we are more like brothers, we also bought a package deal of two new 77 KZ1000's. He has been battling brain cancer for 11 months now, he is 59. I feel like I can relate a little to your situation. We hope all will go well with the chemo treatments, right now he is unable to drive as he sometimes blacks out briefly. That is a sweet ride he left for you, I hope you get many miles of pleasure and memories out of it, I would agree that you should continue your journey with your speedo. Take care my NGW friend. Good friends are hard to come by, I should be so lucky to have one such as you. To Fewman! To theoz49! May we all take a moment during our next ride to remember those that have gone before us.
