The bike didn't run right, so the first thing I did was bought one of randakk's kits and rebuilt the carbs. I did one half first and then laid them together for comparison. The bike still didn't run right so I made a timing light and re-timed it. Things got a lot better so I borrowed some vacuum gauges and balanced the carbs. As soon as I hit the sweet spot I knew it. She finally started purring like a kitten... I jumped on and could not believe the difference. This is a fun bike to ride! I replaced the timing belt and all of the filters and she hasn't had an issue since.

Here are my renderings I did over time. Slowly it evolved until I finally finished.

GLCB Cafe with side cover3.jpg
I do 3D design for a living so I took some measurements and designed some new shelter panels around the existing lid. I overlaid the 3d image on the bike to produce the following image.
Photochopped 3d tank.jpg
After seeing some classic dodge car with a similar stripe, I knew that's what I wanted to do for the paint scheme. The following picture was my last rendering I did.
Bumblebee stripe 2.jpg
For some reason it puts my first rendering last?

Awesome!! Thanks for sharing your work.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

Nicely done. I like your solution to making your vision work. It was what you want so you found a way to create or modify it.

i REALLY like this creation. i always say, "its in the details", and you have proven me correct. i like the mufflers instead of the straight pipes. draws the eye back and makes the bike look long and low. i feel your pain on the glass work, and your addiction to polishing. i share both

The mufflers are "Dunstall Style Reverse Cone" from Dime City Cycles. Good quality, good sound and cheap to boot. $55/ea and they bolt right up with a slight bend to the bracket they come with.

I will post some more pictures of the "details" soon
