WOW, sounds like the had his stuff together better than I did. He also has a start booster wired in, I haven't had any problems with startup without it.
This guy did massive research on his setup with lots of data (some I don't even understand), I wish I would have found this before I did mine. Mine ended working out well for me with some trial and error and ended up about the same. Even a blind squirl finds a nut every now and then.

Gotta 81 GL1100 Rat rod, not what Honda meant to build, but what I have always wanted.

Re: Chevy ignition modification to GL1100
Hi Guys,
Please can anyone tell me if the circuit that was posted in the link here .....
http://home.comcast.net/~loudgpz/GPZweb ... vCoil.html
.
.........................................................Would work with just the 'pick ups' from a Dyna system that I have fitted to my mechanical advance GL 1000 ?
.
If it will work.... it seems like a cheap way of getting a 'Spare' electronic ignition..... for well under the price of a Dyna control unit...AND...you get a much better set of New coils at the same time.

Re: Chevy ignition modification to GL1100
The older Dynas use a hall sensor that is powered by their external module. GM and Honda modules don't have the hall sensor power supply because they're both inductive. Would have to figure out some kind of add on power supply to make it work!.. work with just the 'pick ups' from a Dyna system that I have fitted to my mechanical advance GL 1000 ?
