This is a screen shot of the Honda parts I am looking at for the head job. On the right track? How do I find the exhaust gasket?

Occupied with the engine right now. In addition to the carbs, head job, and water pump I am considering the following:
Oil scavenge pump (not sure how big a job this is)
Clutch - 84 retrofit?? Saw the great post by Old Fogey
Electronic ignition?? I have seen some posts on the Dyna system.

I am not going to be using this as a race bike and want to include things that will increase reliability, ride-ability, and convenience.

On a different note, I will be scrapping the original tank and modifying the upper supports to accept a traditional tank. Looking at a 1979-82 CB750F tank, or possibly a Rickman style tank to balance the mass of the boxer-style engine. Either way I am looking for any guidance out there on this mod. Looks like sunnbobb has made a good habit of this.

Also will be lacing 16" rims on the front and back.

Here are some inspirations for the build. I know some of these bikes are much skinnier than the GW but I like the elements they incorporate.

Last summer, Westernhonda had head gaskets for $40 each. Exhaust gaskets, the copper rings, can be gotten from any local auto store they are the same as many cars. Check the cross references under Other References on the Shoptalk page.

OEM head gaskets for me. And the exhaust gaskets I got at NAPA were a touch small and did not hold themselves in the head like OEM. Also, about thd same price.

Thanks all. Getting a blend of OEM and aftermarket.

I appreciate the comments in rubber. Any suggestions for a good road tire that has a vintage look with an updated tread design?

tires are sort of like oil, folks have lots of opinions. I have a dunlop 404 on my Ltd, and one of the last elite II's on my 78. Dunlop stopped making a 17" rear in the Elite series.

Working on the carbs today. Got the randakk kit and working my way through it. All the top jets seem to be correct and in the correct place.

I was looking at the shocks on both bikes. MotoNudo has what I believe are originals. The silver bike has air shocks which I think were aftermarket.

Thinking about rebuilding the gas ones and putting them on the build and holding the others for the "original" bike. Any opinions on using the old shocks and the switch?
