Man, what a clean unit. After perusing your posts, sir, I now think I need to go back to the beginning; I think I forgot to clean something. I could always start over.
If there is one thing I have learned throughout this process it is this: Check your respirator for spiders before you put it on.

Started today with the carburetors (were actually already in an excellent condition after 32 years; (luckily kept dry/containing no fuel all those years), partly dismantling, removing/cleaning of all jets and carb. body channels etc, new o-rings........et, etc...........
After finishing I will check/adjust float bowl levels and execute evt. vac./pressure tests......

Best regards, Ruud

Got to say, not only impressed with the work and detail you have done, but also the high standard of photography!

Thank you very much..........(also Gowing)...........

Your posts help me to push through with this project of which I estimate that it will finally require a total of 750 manhours, equivalent to an amount of labour costs between USD 30.000 and 37.500,- plus USD 3.000 hardware etc. (whereas the engine only was repainted and no mechanical or other serious defects had to be repaired)

With reference to the photography........In general I take very few photographs; I am a real amateur......
My camera is a 12 year old pocket size minicamera, "Pentax Optio S" from 2003 with only 3,2 Megapixel whereas today's topcamera's as the Canon DSLR have 75,0 Megapixel ......
I am really surprised amd happy with your judgement!

That is one of the best feelings when all the work put into the bike shows it's all been worth it, Even I know that feeling!

Hi Jimtt,

Thank you....
If you mean the candy blue green panels (cover battery, false tank, radiator wings).......the answer is fotunately yes; they have the original color as produced/supplied in 1975.
Enclosed again a photo-copy when I started the renovation nearly one year ago.

Image

Easier spoking of rims with the temporarely use of drinking straws........spokes can be inserted and hub can be moved around in any direction easily without the problem of dropping of previous inserted/just placed spokes......no benting of spokes necessary etc.
Everybody who has done this tricky job before knows exactly what I mean and how things are simplified herewith.

Ruud, as always an interesting post, with great pictures. You make the painting look so easy which is one area I am rubbish. The one thing I am sorry about the majority of projects I follow, is the fact that we have to replace the rear shocks most of the time. Still have my originals, but they in a right state, and not sure if the air lines would be ok as they were bent over and taped up by a PO. Maybe someone can advise, but bought some Hagons to put on when I start my month off next week!
