Done exactly the way it should ! I believe this is a stress fracture caused by standingontheendoftheleverto force the bike up on the centerstand, it just cracks.
The real problem with these if you look at the picture you can see that it contacts the front edge of the foot right on the edge which requires you to really push hard on the lever to get it up on the radius to roll up on the stand, that extra pressure on the lever is what causes the crack of the leg.
So what I did and do now is add a piece of angle iron to the front edge so you extend the radius and it just rolls up, you don’t have to force it over the edge. This is made worse when using a 16” rear wheel/tire because things sit lower and hit farther up on the tip of the feet. Adding the angle iron allows it to start on the radius and just roll up.

That has potential for gimpy, two hip replacement fogeys like me. I would love to see a pic of this. For me getting it started was the hardest part.
Another option I mulled over is a folding extension on the lever part to increase your leverage to get it started.

Eric, adding an extension to the arm will make it easier for the rider to roll the bike up on the center stand, but (ain’t there always) that extension will put more stress on the foot tube and probably crack/break it much sooner. I’ll try to get some pictures of adding the angle iron.
