I have had strippers change the underlying color of the aluminum.... sort of darken it

everything I want to strip is chrome plated..fingers crossed it doesn't affect it but if it does I have a plan B.
blast the powder coat off and redo it in gloss black.

well..I bought the lastest version of aircraft stripper and it didn't even start to work. treid silica sand at 100 psi..nope all it did was take the shine off.
What does work is one of those scotch bright type pads on a die grinder..
this is the 4th go at the dash...the white part around the ignition switch holes is a reflection from the light over my bench..
and the 4th go at the tail light..I think I'm on the downhill side of the learning curve.
