Great story with a happy ending!
Almost sure to be Candy Sirius Blue. Correct for a 77 model year GL1000K2, as is the pin striping on the shelter. It also has K2 chrome rear engine mount brackets, but has a K0 75/76 seat.
My bike is also a K2 originally in Sirius Blue, but I didn't really like it and much prefer the first model Candy Blue Green so decided to have it painted that colour. This was supplied by RS Paints, and while it looks great, IMO it's nothing like Honda Candy Blue Green! To be fair matching 50 year old candy colours is not easy I guess.
