Looks great! The accents really set it off. Did you ever get the horn button figured out?

Yes, but I had to disassemble the left hand control to figure out what the manufacturer was doing. Couldn't work it out with the continuity testor. It did make sense but was different than anything I had worked on previously.

Looking at your bike makes me regret leaving myself wingless at the moment. Only be a matter of time...

I should think a seat cushion would make for a much nicer ride....

I don't know, probably have enough built-in cushion.wingrider wrote:I should think a seat cushion would make for a much nicer ride....

I'm just starting another one that is equally "trashy" I guess I just like to torture myself.
Actually when it comes down to it, most of the parts get discarded on a custom build anyway so all that really matters is the frame and engine.

Re: It just looks like trash!
Due to inclement weather and other projects, I have been neglecting the "Trash Project" AKA "Night Mare" but today I managed to get the decals on the side covers. I am really pleased with the result and just hope they stay put! The material is a vinyl chrome foil and fairly thick. I am considering clear coat but because of the thickness I don't know if the clear can be sufficiently sanded without breaking through to the foil. I will have to talk with someone more knowledgeable than me about the clear. One of the reasons I am just now getting around to applying the decals is two different pro painters told me to wait at least a month after paint before applying the decals to give plenty of time for the paint to harden.
Probably about time to get a seat and the license plate so I can ride for more than a few miles at a time.
The final photo below shows my work space. It looks a lot like trash too! I am being overwhelmed!
In the foreground suspended from the hangman's noose is a '76 GL1000 that I think I will attempt to restore since I have most of the parts (or chop and make a low'rider bobber) behind that is the 1980 CB750 that is going to be stock (for now) when I get the carbs sorted out. Only one redeeming thing about my little work space, there is no snow (not to mention it has been around 70 and clear every day for a week or so. Put about 70 miles on Matilda today.

Haven't been in your neck of the woods before, but do you have to worry about rain upsetting your workspace?

Re: It just looks like trash!
Well, its been my experience that bikes don't take up much room when they are put together or when they have just been disassembled. It's when you are working on the rebuild that they expand to take up enormous amounts of room!
