Nothing wrong with that yellow hue, and a lot is perfect.

Very nice color.

I think it'll pop quite a bit better than the original.

so robin, i see that the exhaust valve is in place but the intake is not. i thought CCing was only really to get the actual chamber volume not the intake runner + chamber?

Yep, spark plug in there too. Those are not the valves that will be going in when complete though. I don't have those yet. Hopefully tomorrow.

Any idea yet on how much the compression will drop from this tweeking? Seems miniscule, but maybe it takes less than I'm thinking to drop it down a bit.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

Can't tell without having pistons and then measuring the head gaskets too. We weren't really looking to drop it so much as helping to prevent some detonation. I could drop it a little more by having the machine shop sink the valves more when he does the valve job. I don't want to try getting too fancy though. This isn't a race bike. It is going to be street ridden. So lowering compression much at all would hurt performance. If it drops more than 1 or 2 points I'd be surprised.

Besides, all that kind of work doesn't come cheap. ;)

Painting is starting to come together. Painting reminds me of an old military adage. "Detail is perfection, and perfection is no detail!"..

So here are the valve cover emblems being redone.

Emblems soaked in paint remover and old paint removed.
Place emblems in styrofoam to level up.

Mix 1:1 thinner and paint in cup

Apply paint with curved nose eye dropper. drip slowly and allow paint to spread.

Apply paint in small spaces using a toothpick or (in Franks honor) the wood end of an incense stick.

Wipe any overruns with the paper end of a match.

Allow to dry.

If you stick with the ribbed serpentine belts you don't need the blow off valve. They will slip if the blower attempts to spin backward. If you run cogged belts then you need a safety valve. I have ribbed belts and am running 10PSI boost without a problem. They also track better than the cogged belts, a bit more forgiving on misalignment. The first gen eaton I have is cogged and the belt is always wanting to walk off the pulley one direction of the other.

Also, I can't find any spec on the rotation of the AMR 500. Do they make one that spins the right direction? Or are you going to have to make a bottom drive setup? That is a pain.

Good points Jeff. I will have to research that question. As I understand it, the blow off valve is needed in case of a back fire up the plenum.

Shouldn't need it with the ribbed belts. During the time I was tuning my EFI I had a few episodes of backfire. I heard the pop, and the belt squeal.

If the AMR500 is CW only you'd have to drive it like this... I sent them an email to ask about direction. I'm looking of a supercharger for mine also. It almost looks like you could spin it either way just by turning it over. If it will run that way. Might be a great find.
