Building a café racer called „Uschi“

Hello Wingman,
I used a scroll saw (hope that's the correct name in english)

heres a picture:
but you need a lot of jigsaw blades
it's funny to work with such a saw. you can do a lot of nice things, whether useful or not.

And a emblem for my Wing

Hello,

today i staid in my workshop, working on the bike. First i put a logo to the radiator grill. Printed on a gold foil

Next i renewed my front calipers. Took off the pistons and seals and sanded it. Bought new bleeder valves and a special paint for calipers.
My kitchen was my workshop this morning, because its cold outside and this is a man's kitchen.

Here is a picture after painting the brake caliper. It hangs over the heating in my office

While the color is drying, I rebulid the front fork. I let the oil out of the fork, took out the sealrings. Than I sanded the lower part of the fork. Now the fork ist shining again. Then I put new sealrings into the fork and Uschi will get boots at the front fork.

This evening I added new parts to the calipers. Look here.

Next week I had to build in the fork and the front brakes.

Looks great. I understand working in your kitchen. When I lived in Berlin I helped a friend carry his BMW engine up four flights of stairs so he could work on it over the winter. Keep up the good work. It keeps Uschi's memory alive

In my beginnings we carried some bikes from the 50th cebtury to the 2nd floor of our house. Restored them and put them back on the road. And on the 1st floor there was a tire footprint at the wallpaper .
And Berlin is always worth a trip.

When I was there it was a city with a wall. I made many bike trips thru the "z0ne", and never met a German I didn't like. Hang on to your memories......in the end they may be all you have

Oh yes, we are happy, that 30years the wall is history an we are one country.
We don't need such walls. Nowhere in the world. It feels good to be able to ride wherever I want.

Hello,
today I took advantage of the rainy weather and first screwed a music system into my workshop. With lock for cell phone and MP3 player. Working is a little more fun with the right music.

When Johnny Cash finally got started, I screwed the refurbished and polished forks back onto the motorcycle.
I added the newly overhauled calipers and I was totally amazed how the VF750 F calipers fit. Newly painted just great.

Only the lower fender strut had to be built slightly downwards. The new brake calipers bulid larger than the old single-piston calipers. But I was able to compensate for this with a small aluminum strut.

and then Uschi also got bellows, I just like it and they keep the dirt away from the fork. After the headlights and the front indicators were back on, I was also able to exchange various screws for something fancier and replace the temporary.

Finally, I measured the lines for the steel braided brake lines. I will finally order them now. Next up is the electrical one. I hope that this will happen quickly, because I left out some consumers.

I like all but the radiator grill, but the same will be on my present build because it came with the bike. I prefer the stock grill. I like those dual-pot calipers, though. Color looks right, also.

Yes, the grill does not really fit into a cafe racer. But everyone has their crazy man in mind. And he called: "buy that crazy grill". So I had to do it.
