Still making small progress on the saddlebag mount and the painting project. I laid out the mount in AutoCad and built a model out of .220 acrylic to make sure I had the measurements right. Had to tweak the print a bit but it did fit!
Mount on bike held on with clamps.

I got the flames laid out on the lower cover too. Now I just need to get the painting done.

I think those green handled clamps will look great on the finished project shakehands

I got the metal frames from the welding shop and here's how they look on the bike, without the green clamps. dancr I'm going to have them powder coated with the textured copper vein color that the calipers are in.

Here's how the bike looks with the bags on now!

And from the back

Now i really do have to start the painting on the side covers!

Thanks Fred, I do have the plan saved in AutoCad. I gotta admit I was pleasantly suprised with how well they did fit when I put them on the bike. They are very solid when bolted up tight.

I've read this thread from page 1, and I am completely blown away. I feel lazy now. :-(

All I've done is a new head gasket on my 2-4 head (I used moly lube for torquing down the bolts.)
The bike is essentially just another bike... The pilot is CRAZY.

I got the bag mounts powder coated and decided get the luggage rack done too. So here are the latest pics with the bags and the rack. Now I really do have to get the side covers done! They are the last thing on my list. That is until I think of something else I just have to add to it. lolol

Got a couple more things off my list today. Installed a Superbrace and mounted the front tool bag.

Image

I decided I didn't like the covers in brown so i repainted them in ivory. I still need to figure out the color for the flames.

I agree. The accent color will come from the flame patern. They cover a good portion of the covers. I think I'm going to do the flames with the brown I had on the cover before. That color goes well with the ivory but didn't look good right next to the leather on the seat. If that doesn't work out, it's back to the drawing board. I never realized how hard it is to decide on the final look. I think that's why the paint is still the last thing I need to get done.

I don't think they make them anymore. I bought it off a fellow member here.
