Why don't we make this Noon Pacific Time on the 28th in conjunction with the ride. That way we have some time and can get an announcement up so it gets some exposure.sunnbobb wrote:Good job Reb. And Tomorrow at Noon, may we collectively bow ours heads, no matter where we are.

Re: Memorial Ride For Cookie
I very much regret that I won't be able to make the ride as my wife and I will be in Colorado. So today, I did a solo ride for Cookie. This ride is something he and I had PM'd each other about last year. I offered to put he and Christine up for the weekend if they wanted to do Tahoe at some time. It never happened and I regret that.
So, in some photo's, here's the 101 mile ride I'd have taken with him had I got the chance...
Heading out from my place...

Heading east out Pleasant Valley Road towards Tahoe - 10 miles of twisty and green

At mile 10. Stop and gawk! Doesn't get any prettier than this.

'Field of Dreams'

Some real 'bargains' along the way...

Mile 15 - Slow for wildlife

Mile 26 - Pass Jenkinson Lake. That's the Sierra's and Tahoe in the distance

Mile 30 - Stop and stretch at Angle Falls

Miles and miles - Chase the river up the mountain

Keep going...

...and going

Mile 40 - 5 thousand feet, some snow in sight and it's still 75 degrees.

A 'Highway Totem' along the way. He's a happy guy!

Mile 45 - 6 thousand feet. Turn off the highway and start climbing. This road is a test.

Mile 48 - Still climbing

Mile 50 - 7 thousand feet and at the top. Look around, then...

Head back down!!

Thought of Cookie the whole way. I think he would have liked it...

Ride Safe Rebel and watch out for the massive potholes up on I80.There is a chance for snow this weekend up on top. HWY50 might still be closed at Echo summit. JB
