Yes, I did. Very lovely. Looks just like superbike bars, although having the holes for the wiring pre-drilled is a nice bonus.

I'm sticking with my plan regarding bars though. My black suberbike bars showed up the the mail yesterday. Hoping to have them on by Sunday night. :8)

Ordered my cafe seat today too, so hopefully that's be next weekend's activity. :orange
macmusick wrote:datsunfreak did you happen to see the photo of the Honda GB500 I posted a few weeks ago. That to me is the EPI-TOME of cafe styling. It was a stock TT bike built by Honda in the 80s. Just so pretty I'd marry it and take it home to mamma.
That is quite a handsome machine...

And it does allay my fears that I would need to ditch most of the chrome for the black and gold to look good. anim-cheers1

That looks like my '77. This was my first Goldwing. I bought it new and it only has 33,000 miles on it.

Got a used fuel pump from a local 'winger this morning. Yay!

It works but it leaks as bad as the one I already had. Boo!

I guess it's time for a new pump after all... :-?

That's a bit of a bummer. At least with a new pump you will know it won't give you any problems for a long time.

Might I suggest a Honda part or a well branded quality replacement. Buying new aftermarket often results in poor quality control, and wastes your time. Let us know what you learn about your options.

Yeah, exactly. I'll try to get one this week so I'll be back on it soon.

There honestly aren't many options. :P

It's either OEM for $105 or a "quality aftermarket" pump for $79.

Or keep buying $20 used ones until I find a winner.

I am very stoked about getting a set of skins and a shelter (thanks crazyjeeper!) so I can "upgrade" to a '79 style tank. I love the way those look. :8)

Time for a bit of a poll... :P

On the advice of fellow Texas 'winger reidransom I contacted hotwing glass for a "cafe" seat for my bike. I love his, and wanted the same seat/look for mine.

His seat:

Here's where it gets tricky...

I showed the guys at hotwing that photo, they said "sure, we can make one of those!", they quoted me a price, I paid for it and then they sent it out to me.

Only when it got here, I opened the box and they did not in fact make that seat for me. crying1

They sent me their "darkwing" seat. Looks like this:

Now the question is, do I just go along with it and put the darkwing seat on, or complain and see if I can get the other seat? I don't hate the darkwing seat (looks great on that silver supercharged bike), and it would probably grow on me after awhile...
