Hello,

The rear fender is from a HD v-rod. A VRSCSE2 '06 to be precise. Designed to cover a 240 tire.
.....thus wide enough to cover the antlers of the GW rear frame ;)

The seats are also from a v-rod, only from the narrower - earlier type. They can be persuaded to fit on the wider fender.
I selected these seats because they have no brand/ logos on them. I have no extra pictures of the seats ATM but they do appear on page 1 of my thread. They stand in the right corner and loosely fitted on the frame.

Regards

Richard

That is the fender I was looking for, and the design I am building off of. Looking forward to more pics and following this build.

You,
Me.

Dont worry.. I copied it too lolol

The builder Hans Petter Mikkelson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyjohmiHf-4 has made a slide show of his build. Gives away some clues.

I don't think you will need to mod your faux tank since yours is lowered.

Good luck with your build. anim-cheers1

Thanks, I had seen RodWing but for some reason never connected in my mind. I saw a V-Rod for sale and liked the fender. I started making a fender from two front fenders but found the plastic to hard to form and have support, I am working on a rear fender now using two rear fenders and am using a CBR954 front fender.

Hi all,

finally found to time to tinker in the shed action1

Lifted the engine on to the bench  not something i would recommend doing alone more than once a month ;)

Removed the water pump, installed the honda pump with new gaskets and o-rings...

almost ready to reassemble

only to find out i am missing 2 orings  the two upper left and right 23.0 x 2.1mm. They are not supplied in the full gasket set I got. Not what i expected with a full set. There are on the way atm.

Made another list to get other stuff done on the project. brake lines, fuel cap, brake fluid reservoir etc.
Quick tease:

to be continued lolol

how did you go about this? what are the clearances for the swingarm?

There are slight clearance issues. None on the front of the swingarm or on the left side.

the indentation i mentioned earlier is covered with a thin metal plate.
I removed the metal plate and the tire would clear the swingarm.
For the obvious reasons that hole needs to be blanked of again.

To gain room for the new plate i needed to enlarge (+ 1cm) the hole toward the pumpkin.
Welding the plate is still on the to do list. I am saving most of the welding things.
When I feel i got all the welding jobs prepped i'll move the project to my work for welding.
I have got a nice TIG at work I can access in the weekend - when i'm free.

The other thing to look for is the fuel tank clearance. Nothing major, but the tank needs to be moved 6mm to the outside. I will make a eccentric bushing for the top mount under the saddle. all the other mounts get a small tap with the motivation tool :horse:

That was the oldest oil i ever found in a engine. Didnt smell that bad though.

Hi Casper,

I never went anywhere ;) just didn't make any progress.

This is a slow build.
Work takes up a lot of my time. Our home is need of some home improvement which take up my time and our money.
And i need to balance work vs SHED vs DIY time for my wife and our daughter too girl1
So the GL gets put back on the back burner.

If i need a bike i can always borrow one of my dad. He has a gl1500 and a gl1200. All my fault dancr

I think it was the turtle that said, "Slow and steady wins the race." :-)

Your concept is good and your work is excellent. Keep thinking on it and find a few minutes a day to work on it.
