I'd want to look at the condition of the pistons before spending money on the gaskets. If even one is cracked you very well may be changing course and not need the gaskets.

i would go to napa and get the new belts. they are made by gates and are around $14 ea. heads come off pretty easy. with the intakes, exhaust and valve cover off the bolts are obvious. but don't forget the small 6mm dead center on the bottom

And if you were to try they'd ban you from making any further purchases. Not that it'd matter. But really, they've done that.

Off topic, I just bought belts from napa and they were $27 for one. Plus tax
Only one per box. That's two for $60.
Why the diff in price ??

Cascade Cycle (one of our sponsors) offers the best deal on belts. You should get the New2U kit.

Have a read through the Front Engine Renewal Project thread for details of getting the heads and all off.

Only one per box because these are for Honda cars. Which only need one. Honda happened to use the same belt for the Wing and the car. So the crossover is perfect.

I priced them from NAPA and they were $27 each. I got gates belts form amazon for around $15 each and got them shipped really fast.

If you have a complete tune up to do the above mentioned New 2U kit is the way to go.

NAPA has become a bit of a disappointment to me. High prices and substandard products a lot of the time. Not what they used to be.

Agree on the NAPA assessment. I also find they don't have what I need and have to order it. might as well get it on line cheaper.

the NAPA belts are made by Gates, says so right on the box. might be your local store, but the one i shop at goes out of its way to find the weird and hard to find stuff i 'm always looking for. the people behind the counter are old enough to be able to pick up a book and make stuff happen, instead of being lost on the computer if i don't have a make and model, and engine size, and color, of a vehicle i need an air freshener for. and the quality of their parts are ALWAYS better then the autozone or advance stores. o'rilleys is a close second

I agree with the 'Borg. ;)

The NAPA stores around here seem to hire the local gearheads and riders. They know me and go the extra mile to please.
