Thanks for the great comments guys. I've been thinkin about this project for a long time. I just had to find a cheap 1100 to do it to. I'm not out of the woods yet, it runs and with some small dinken around its starting to sound better, you know throttle response, starting..etc. The real test will be in the spring when its finished and road tested. There still jetting, power valve, accelerator pump size & duration, spark curve and so on. I think I'll keep the original carbs just in case.

Keep thinking outside the box..........Oldboy
Cheers...

if nothing else, it's a good jumping off point to fuel injection. lots of TBI units out there should practically bolt on. it's easy after that right?

Now I got to thinking about that plenum, and wanted to voice a concern. That is a very large plenum, and holds alot of fuel air mixture. I'm thinkin some sort of blowoff valve pointed away from the rider might be an idea. A backfire could turn it into a bomb. Not raining on the parade, just wanna see ya around down the road.

Any backfire would come out of the carb butterflies. This wouldn't be like a blower where it is basically sealed below the rotors. In that case there is no place for a backfire to go. With this it would be no different than the stock carbs.

that set up is cool OLDBOY, just watched the video and it sounds real good. hope it works out. if it works out for you, keep the enthusiasm down. you can't beat the stock system, (keep that in mind.) your idea is excellent , but i like the stock carbs. thats just me.
