I would like to lower the rear on her about 1-2 inches. I am sure someone has replaced the air shocks with coil overs to get it lower. Any suggestions?

Welcome, I started rebuilding cars and bikes with my son when he was your son's age. He's 25 now, living on the bottom side of the states, and calls me almost every day with updates on his newest projects. Enjoy each other and you will forge a wonderful bond.

Sorry guys, I have been crazy busy with work and side work lately. Now that it is warming up, time to get back to it. I will be updating progress as it comes along. Nothing really new yet. Just put on some grips, mirror mounts and started on the exhaust. I have an idea for the "tank" but I think it will be a little bit of a project and I have to wait for warmer weather so the fiberglass sets. I will have some progress pics soon

So, I picked up a tank cover off an 1100. Got it fitted, got a seat from a Suzuki, 11 inch shocks. Got all the wiring pulled in by the tank cover. Need to make some headlight brackets, make mounts for the cover and seat and some covers to clean up some of areas left open by the new parts. Getting closer day by day. Oh yeah, now that it has been lowered 2.6 inches, the midstand no longer will work until I cut and reweld the feet. Picked up some mufflers so I will be mocking those up next.

Well, it has been a crazy year. Just ended up pushing the wing in the corner and it's time to get back to it. I am going with a full build yhis time instead of trying to piece together a bike quickly. There will be some frame changes, carb changes and wiring changes. Been getting info together the last couple of weeks and searching for parts. I will try to update at least once a week. Hope you guys enjoy it

Well I know I was supposed to be getting back to the build. Then my son decided that since I was building my bike, he needed to build his. Which then meant that I no longer had room for 2 bikes that are torn apart and be able to do side work. So, I had to put an addition on the garage. Now that that is done, we were able to get back to work. This is the progress so far. I will be going to a "dual monoshock" as it is the best way I can describe it. Dual Solex carbs with custom intakes. Relocate the battery. "Normal" fuel tank and relocated wiring. Hope to give progress as I can. For some reason the first 2 pics are upside down but when you look at them they are right.

Sorry for not updating, I've had a lot of sidework come in lately and had to pick up some more metal working tools. So, my seat and bracket came in today now I can plan out the rear suspension and seat mounts. All my metal is in and picked up my new (to me) bandsaw so I can start making brackets and supports this weekend. Also, on a side note, my son has decided that he wants to learn to weld. So now we can build bikes together. Can't wait to see him learn to make something in his head and see it come to life :-D
