I like that screen a LOT. Looks like a very nice fit and the styling does not detract from the bike at all.

That's one of the nicest looking shields I've seen. Givi makes some top notch stuff.

Its a GIVI A620. They're only available in a smoke colour but its quite a light tint.
I spent ages looking at all the available screens; glad I chose this. It looks really good IMHO.
Inc the carriage it cost me £101 / $165 so not cheap but you get what you pay for.
A tip. If you do buy one of these, make sure you have another pair of hands available as they are a bit of a pain to get fitted on your own.

Did the first good run tonight down to my mates, about 30 miles each way. She seemed to run great, still a bit noisy in the gearbox dept and of course a small oil leak on the TOP of the engine under the carbs. That could be a real b****d. There is an oilway between the cases just under the middle of the carbs; I think that's where it's coming from.
Total bummer! I really don't want to have to pull the engine and fix it; need to get the thinking cap on.

The screen makes a hell of a difference. I've also dropped the triple tree down the forks by about 1/2" to quicken up the steering. That's made quite a difference, it doesn't seem to understeer now, but at the expense of being slightly more nervous at speed. A bit more preload on the taper rollers could cure that.

According to Randakk's 'Honda Entertainment Device" it used 1/2 a tank of fuel to do 60 miles, cruising down the Motorway at around 70 with a bit of twisties thrown in!
That's damn thirsty; I'll do a fill up tomorrow and see for sure.

I've got a Colortune coming this week so maybe I can get the mixture right with that as according to the plug colour she is just on the rich side.

Actually, my 1975 model hits the half mark at 60 miles, like you, and the E mark at 115 or so. However I have another 20 miles before it hits reserve. So it's about 135 to reserve.

So it's getting closer to 33 - 35 MPG for me running at 65 mph. Now that's U. S., not imperial gallons, mind you!

My yellow one actually ain't too bad. The one time I hit e on the gauge I had to go to reserve and that's close for an old bike.
Enjoy life,

According to the fuel needle ...

Mine gets 75 miles on the 1st quarter tank.

Then it gets another 75 down to reserve.

If I get gas immediately after throwing the reserve knob she takes about 3.7 gallons.

So almost 2 gallons of reserve fuel.

Well, got stuck into sorting the oil leak yesterday after using Puffy's idea of blowing powder around the leak area.

B*ll*cks! It seemed to be coming from the oilway area down toward the front of the motor, under the thermostat housing! So, not the quick job I first thought.

Carbs off, rad drained and off, crash bars off, rad rear shroud off, thermo housing and pipes off.

The more I looked at it the less I thought I wanted to do Cookies Idea. Not easy to get in there and accurately drill, especially as the drill bit would be going between the two half of the casing. I had visions of the bit snapping off or wandering.

The Oyltite Stik had arrived so I reckoned to give that a go first. After all, all I am needing at the moment is a temporary repair so that I can get some miles in before the BIG TRIP. After that I can pull the engine and do it properly while I look for the cause of the noisy box.

I thought it would be good to release the top casing bolts in the hope that the gap would open just a couple of thou so that I could get the Oyltite worked down into it.
Hah !!!!!!!! Maybe there is the culprit. The first 10mm bolt, the one under the thermo housing that you can't get to with it in place, was tight but not as in TIGHT.
Anyway, with the rest off them slackened off the area was cleaned of oil and the Oytite used right along the top of the cases, rubbing it down into the crack as hard as possible. I built up another layer on top of that as a precaution once all the bolts had been retightened.

Everthing built back up and the engine started, total time just under 5 hours. As it didn't previously leak at tickover I took her for a 80-90 mph blast down the motorway and back, about 10 miles.

RESULT !!!!!!!!!! Not a drop of oil anywhere.

Maybe that bolt was the problem. Hopefully you won't need to tear her down.

Excellent!

and by getting the Oytite down in the crack, there is some surface area for it to work with. Between that, and the loose bolt, I would be optimistic that this is a permanent fix!

I like the screen and all the tasteful touchs to the bike. The crash bars are great and I like the handlebars too.
