Stopped at Sill's today and got the O-ring needed. Also ordered the brake light switch spring since it's the cheapest part of the build @$1.49
I have a solenoid but the ignition switch is unobtainable from Honda unless we change out the whole housing...key and all.I will do some figuring and looking.

We may have to look for an ignition lock from a '75 if we want to keep the matching keys. Honda changed the ignition switch in '76. The replacement part fits '75-'77 and has that later design like the switch I have here. Honda never made a switch base for the '75 model year.

Nothing wrong with the lock but the switch acts as if it has a loose wire in it. Jiggle it and it goes on and off. I believe it also will kill the bike when running if touched/jiggled. Is it true that a 76 would work but we would have to re-key the shelter? Can the ignition lock be re-keyed?

I have a switch, but one of the two tabs that hold it into the lock assembly is broken off. If that part is ok on your switch, it can be swapped over.

The early locks (75-76 5 number key code) can be easily rekeyed or the whole tumbler swapped to a different lock, retaining your keyed alike status.

The Doc's Bourbon bottle was half full when I left Saturday. Anything left? See you guys about 430 Friday. I will bring updated expense list. Would like to know those before we advertise. BTW to anyone watching: I will be putting 898 on Craigslist around Ohio, ebay and will have at VMD. If you or anyone you know is interested in purchase shoot me a PM. Would love to see the bike stay in the Family. ern
