1986 1200 Aspencade - "Heart of Gold" - daily rider

my original '79 bought in '91 - replacing engine (eventually, maybe someday)
added an '05 1800 to the stable, all the rest gotta go

Hydro,

After reading this thread, I submitted your name to Mother Honda as a test pilot......the insane type that's willing to push a piece of equipment to it's limits, then beyond, regardless of the consequences to life or limb. :|

I've seen this thing in person, and let me say it looks wild. I didn't notice any excessive rpm that day, but it was a short visit.

I was wondering about the large bomb between your legs or I mean the large amount of mixed fuel that you would get using the stock air box. i wonder if you couldn't take the four intake manifolds and devise a way to set it up like fuel injection. If so you would eliminate the safety issue of having all that fuel mixed in the airbox. I am not an expert here but I would think that system could be made much smaller and safer.

After the breather box blew up once from a backfire, I did away with the extra space in the breather box. The Biggest area now is the homemade plenums between the mixer and original carbs. Each carb is blocked from the breather box individually.

The propane asperation method I'm using is nothing like fuel injection. I here so many people with rock crawlers that say they are propane injected when they should say propane asperated. The traditional vapor system works thruogh the same ventury process as a regular carb. The only difference is its already vaporized.

There are propane injected engines now that acctually use fuel injectors and a high presure fuel pump to spray in liquid propane. They even use the same computer to fire the injectors with only program mods.

I'm gonna go out and get some better pics of my system. I've rigged me a rear fender now but still have alot more cosmetics to do.

Yes. I have a J series Impco vaporizer, (2) CA-100 impco mixers for a forklift and a century 12volt fuel lock off/ fitler and the barley noticable 33lb forklift cylinder.

Here is a closer pic of my carb setup.

The rest is just some around the bike pics and my rear fender. I always try to use what i have laying around so some added sheet metal and some cab lights for blinkers and an el-cheapo tial light and I have a quick fender fix. I have removed my front fender to paint it black. I don't know if I'll put it back, kinda like it like it is. I wonder if its a law to have one?

Some work on the packaging of everything and you could have one wild scoot! Don't they make some horizontal tanks a little smaller?

In my eyes, I already have one wild scoot. If I put a smaller tank on it won't hold as much gas and I'd have to shorten the bike back down.

Tennessee doesn't require fenders at all. No requirement for turn signals either. All you HAVE to have is a head light, tail light, and a place to mount the plate. Oh and a helmet.

Maybe it was mentioned here and I missed it but any idea what kind of legs you have? As in how many miles for the tank? Also is there a cost comparison for MPG verses regular Gas?
