All you riders be safe, and put your rear pegs down so Cookie can ride with you.

Went on a short ride today and stopped in Elby WA on the way to Mt Rainer. There is a small church there on the National Historic register build in 1906 and about the size of a single car garage. Now I am not a religious guy, the last time I was in a church was when my dad died a year ago April, but I stopped in to pay my respects and a moment of silence for Cookie at noon. I met the pastor and he let me ring the church bell at noon in honor of Cookie. Turns out the bell is from a old steam locomotive .....

RIP Cookie.

In was out in the Garage putting tires on my Dresser when the time came. I shut off the radio and had my moment and then went back to work. Spent a good part of the day with him popping in and out of my head.

Noon on the coast was 2:00pm here. I was working on my bikes and a friends, then my wife and I went for a lunch. She agreed to ride the bike with me, which is kinda rare. So after lunch we was just putting around enjoyed some time together, and sorry to say the 2:00 hour slipped by. I think Cookie would be ok with it.

Thanks Rebel for setting it up and to Christine for letting us all come over to remember Cookie while standing in his own garage. I'm really glad I made it to this ride.

As a tangential thought, this was my first NGW in person encounter, and the first time I've come across other Old Wings enthusiasts in Meatspace. I look forward to the next time. Hearing a handful of turnsignal idiot beepers as we waited for the light to go around crystal springs put a smile on my face.

Good ride, good food, good company. Must have been tough for Christine at times, but it was a nice way to remember Cookie, and we all enjoyed his collection of bikes. Like someone said, we all had our passenger pegs down, so Cookie could ride with whomever he chose.

Here's the motley crew:

I went for a walk on the beach. Something I do when I wish to reflect. Found this on the beach and some how it seemed appropriate.

Here's a couple of photos from today. (There'll be more later.) Thanks Rebel for your logistical efforts (it couldn't have happened without you!), and to Albert (ajc), Bill (billbmsn), Phil (snowfan), Steve (starket), and Brian (bladredhead) for coming to ride and offer your respects to Cookie. I wish he could have been there, he'd have enjoyed your combined presence and wing wisdom.

Please know- all of you on the board - how much I appreciate your support...

Christine
