what's your plan with the welds on the handlebars? I like the idea of altering the bars i already have!

I currently just grinded down the welds and sprayed a clear sealer so they wouldn't rust. I want to make sure I like the position. I have two ideas as far as the finish. I may powder coat them black. Or I may take a grinder with a sanding disc to the rest of the bars and then shoot 'em with a urethane clear. The ground metal has a cool look.

You can get the bushings from Bike Bandit for $4.58 each with shipping will be $16.11 and they are OEM. Bought them for my 82.

Glad your back to working on the bike (my son opted for a jeep!) The modified bars look just about the same dimensions as the ones on Dragon Wing. I don't know where they came from originally as they were on the parts bike I bought. I like them myself. Maybe not as comfortable as the higher stock bars but more sporty and reasonably comfortable. Regarding the welding, you are a man of many talents!

Easter, I'm glad I did not let go of the bike. Sometimes when things get tight, the toys are the first on the chopping block. But I look forward to progressing with her. Gonna ditch the comstars today in favor of a pair off an '83. Maybe I'll get the wiring set up for the dual headlight.

Swapped the front wheel today. Hope to have time to do the back soon. Good thing is these rims came with new Dunlaps.

Looking sweet, how do you like that seat. Looks well integrated.

I like the seat. I wanted to get my feet flat on the ground so it's not very cushy--I used very dense foam so the seat would be low. I haven't been on the saddle for more than a few hours at a time...yet. A long ride will tell me exactly how much I like this seat.

I installed the dual headlights. Not sure how I feel about them. I think they would look good without the stock cluster(speedo/tach). I took a couple pics. The bike is crusty cuz I've been scootin' around Texas the past few days.

I also got rid of the cheap plastic signal lights I had on the front. The ones I replaced them with are old metal ones I painted black. Don't know what they came off or if they are after market but I like them.

I like it. Good move on the dense seat, bet it works out fine. Too soft and it ends up chaffing. Like any seat, you need to stand briefly every 40 minutes or so and then comfort is maintained.

I think you're right on the gauges. Maybe lay them down some. That would clean it up.

Yeah, I am looking at a dual headlight set up, like you I think the standard gauges just hang up there too high. I am going to go with a Trail Tech Vapor dash (when I get the cash).
