First of all...I hope Liam finds "his" LTD.
When I purchased mine (original owner), part of the "sales pitch" was that motors were "factory blue printed." I remember chatting with Cookie and he felt maybe the engines were assembled using bits that were of the tighter than their already tight tolerances. Possibly "dynoed" exhibiting better than normal performance characteristics.

They call me "Dog Boy"

Can't blame the "PO"

When I say I am in pursuit of one I mean that I have found one and have an agreement
with the seller regarding taking delivery. Obviously there is a distance issue here
which exists between me here in Ireland and the seller in North America.
The bike is not very far from Detroit in storage at the present time. I have to travel over
when the bad old North American winter goes away with the cash in my grubby paws
do the exchange and take possession. It should all be very interesting.

Don't forget that Vermont is between the green isle and Detroit... don't quite know how you could land, though
Appreciate good people: they are hard to come by.

Totally awesome! Find someone stateside that will crate it for you. Drain the fluids, build a crate, shrink wrap it, then fill the crate w/ polystyrene foam (or polyisocyanurate)(or polyurethane)(or pollywannacracker); then ship it.
If there is one thing I have learned throughout this process it is this: Check your respirator for spiders before you put it on.

OK, I have a quandry.
I have located a bike which from pictures looks exactly like what I want.
It is in storage for the winter which one hopes will be ending soon.
Location of bike is close to Detroit, Michigan.
I have had several telephone conversations with the seller, and have no reason to believe he is anything other than straight up.
The problems here are distance and timing. I need the bike for September, but it is available now.
The perfect way to do this is to arrive to appraise the bike, do the deal, pay over the cash, and take the bike away.
This would work if I lived somewhere within driving distance.
Do any of you guys have any ideas how this can be done fairly for both buyer and seller?

Perhaps a knowledgeable person who lives near the seller could check it out for you. And check out the seller as well

Well .... Greg and I are staying with a friend in Windsor the evening of Wednesday April the 15th. We were going to ride up to your place on Thursday the 16th so we could all ride to St Louis on Friday the 16th .....

But we're flexible, we could visit our friend and then meet you in Detroit.
