Re: What Did You Do To Your Wing Today?
Got the Super Sport Wing out from it's winter storage. Finally. Put a few miles on it. Started up and ran pretty good. Must have been put away correctly.

Re: What Did You Do To Your Wing Today?
Went for a quick 50 mile ride to check out a place down the road from me. Ran in to a few sprinkles. Made it home in time to watch the race. That finish was a good one.

Took the better half for an ice cream run. The business was closed and boarded up so we extended our run to another ice cream shop via some back roads. Turned into a nice 60 mile run! Beautiful day.

Couple hundred miles to survey some roads for a summer group ride. Took a 30 mile shortcut over a forest service gravel road. Super dusty, the pants in the photo were black when we started! Bike worked fine in gravel, up and over the pass.

I got out yesterday for a short (75 mi) remembrance ride. Paid my respects and enjoyed the slightly overcast afternoon.

Re: What Did You Do To Your Wing Today?
Pulled a broken return throttle cable. Spent some time messing with cable routing until the shadows got long and the mosquitos sent me inside. All my bikes came to me with the cables all run inboard, but that puts quite a kink in the return at the carb (the broken cable was rusted and, I believe, the original, I don't think the tight bend broke it). Is there any reason to not run it outboard on the left?

Re: What Did You Do To Your Wing Today?
Some people like them outboard. Personally I stay with the stock routing. If done correctly it works well.

Yes, 38 years is a pretty good test to confirm Ma Honda's plan... I was just imagining how much easier it would make carb removal on my kneesIf done correctly it works well.

Re: What Did You Do To Your Wing Today?
I ran mine outside thinking that it would make future removal easier. That was, I think, in 2007. Haven't had to see if removal is easier. Installation was easier (if I can remember back that far) at the time.
It would look cleaner with them inside.

Ordered Fork Seals for the 75 and a new points plate and condenser for the 78.

Re: What Did You Do To Your Wing Today?
I also have a set of fork seals coming for the '77 - I've reviewed Roady's Shop Talk tutorial for 1100 forks, but, as always on the first time, am a tad apresensive. Any further sage advice?

The 1000 is close to the same. The big difference is the seals on a 1000 won't come off when you remove the lowers from the fork tubes. You will have to pry the seals out. Check out Randakks tool for that.
