I picked up the calipers from the powdercoater Friday and got them put back on the bike today.
The color goes nicely with the Ivory and matches the seat color pretty well. The hammered finish gives it a nice sparkle. All new seals and boots for the calipers too.

Thanks Fred, it looks better in real life. I noticed that the pics have a yellow tint from the flourecent lights and if the flash goes off it washes out the color. One of these days I will be able to get it outside in the sun for some better shots.

Today was all about getting the engine put back together. All new gaskets and O-rings, new temp and fan switches . New neutral safety switch.

Even a polished water pump. That would not work for me as my first 2 miles of a ride from home is on gravel and the water pump and oil filter cover take a beating. Sure looks good.

Love the color you did on the Brakes and the Radiator Wings. I to think it ties in very well with the Ivory Frame/Fenders and the Brown Leather on your Corbin Gun-Slinger.

I fully understand, in your above pics you see 3 or 4 different shades of the brown, yet I think I see the true color in some and those are the ones that go best with the seat. So once you get that baby out in the sunlight and stop drooling like I would be, then take some real pictures so we can see the true.

I've been reading through your build thread. Love the bike and then I got to the calipers....those things are sick! This is going to be a great bike when you are done. Love the color. Love the seat. Love the motor. Can't wait to see it all together.

What Fred said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the copper and black. If I ever rebuild a bike that needs paint, those are my colors! Great Job, and that is coming from a guy that likes to put them back the way they came off the line.

Wow!!

great looking bike.

Please post some current pictures.

If i can make a suggestion since i cannot see the top part of the bike or a pan out complete picture of the whole bike.

Paint the triple trees either a chrome paint, My powder painter did a chrome paint and it looked great and then you wont have the black cross bands going across your forks.

Here's a picture of my 86' GL1200 and my 83' GL1100.

I had the triple trees painted chrome to clean up the forks, the black stripes going across the forks is not the best look on a bike as nice as yours, IMHO

Hey Siphor,

Yes!!, I dont want to Hijack this thread.

The 86' GL12 Wine (Wineberry painted) colored bike is has a 1999 Valkyrie Seat
The 83' GL11 Beige bike has a 2002 or later Valkyrie seat.

The 84' GL1200 Red & Black Tank in the attached picture has a 2002' Valkyrie seat, This is a current project that I wanted to paint the frame, engine, and shorten the rear of the frame making it into a 4 Cylinder Valkyrie.

The Valkyrie Gas tank will be used and the stock underseat tank will Not be used, but this area will be wide open exposing the whole Rear suspension, Rear Wheel, Rear Tire.

No side Covers will be used, and the rear lower part of the frame where the battery sat will be removed, this will open the rear section, supports will be put back to beef up the frame, the battery will be relocated to under the front of the seat laying on it's side using a AGM battery so there will be no leakage.

The tank and bike are a little dusty, should have cleaned it before the pictures
