Fred Camper wrote:Sure looks like a sweet ride. Are you sure you want to wrap those pipes, been told two years maximum from wrapped pipes due to accelerated corrosion?
i read about the corrosion also. perhaps i'll try painting the headers first, then see how i will look and decide if i'm going to wrap it anyways
received the heat wrap. To prevent corrosion, i painted the exhaust first with 3 layers of heat resistant paint.
actually now i like the looks, so perhaps i keep it this way, and use the wrap for another project

you might not need the turnsignals (I fully agree on that), but your licence plate might bring you into problems someday...
hehe, i know. i can bend it back real easy, so my approach will be that "someone" accidentally walked into the plate. hope that works with the law
(actually, yesterday i rode into a road that was temporarily a one street due to road repair. I got stopped by this guy from the traffic department, he warned me about his collegues who were going to be posting there today to write €180 tickets for this traffic violation. so there is hope for the law enforcement agency. )
Nice thread. I really like the final look of your bike. Its just right to me. Whats your experience with those tires on asphalt and gravel roads? I'm curious about the speed triple seat. I know its been used before on this forum but I've never seen a tutorial of the modification needed. Can you explain the process? Also, how's the seat comfort/riding position?

i only have ridden on paved roads. compared to the previous road tires that were on the bike i don't notice any difference. only thing is that when i release the throttle there seems to be minor vibration coming of the tires, but it's very hard to notice.
the seat still has a lot of clearance to the gas tank, but the seat combined with the Metzeler Tourance wheels give the bike its rugged look

- igintion key, starter button
- choke knob
- lights / no lights / high beam switch, on/off switch
done in stainless steel, still thinking if i'm going to paint it black or leave it blank.
first this shitty weather needs to be gone

Very very nice installation.
I would leave it bare stainless, your keys may scratch up the paint...
I like so many of the details on your bike, and am doing a lot of similar things on mine.
You may want to consider swapping the front and rear master cylinder reservoirs like I did, really brings the profile of the bars down http://www.ngwclub.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 0&start=30 - scroll to the bottom of the page

agree with you about the shape and size of the master cylinder. It's to bulky on the bars. I replaced mine with one from a cbr 600
