Sounds like you are hanging in there really good and with a very positive attitude. What can be done these days with medical science is astounding especially with stem cell research. Pulling for you with thoughts for your family. Hoping all goes well for all of you.

Let us know if we can go to a lab to see if we can find a match. I do not have expertise here.

I don‘t know much yet. My locals all went to blood assurance and simply had mouth swab done. If so many of those characters match, then they do a blood test. Catch is, you must be 45 or less to register. Good news is, they don‘t draw marrow from the doner. They get stem cells from the blood then cycle back in what they don‘t use. The doner has to meet certain health and take meds like five or six days before withdraw. Thanks for the intrest. Surley the regestry is big. Remember, if no one is a match for me, they might be able to save someone else.

Still hanging and doing good. As the team of transplant folks were meeting Monday to decide what to do with me, they looked at my Sisters results to see where to start. As they were looking at her results, they noticed some weird results on one of the strands of the test. They decided that wasn't normal for anyone. They re-tested and found out that she is a 6 out of 6 perfect match. Now if we are both healthy enough to take the next steps. Please keep her in mind as I don't want anyone to go through any suffering for me. It is amazing how things work out sometimes. I know its still a long way to go but, its better than it was.

I don't know if I can get these words out to make sense but I am gonna try.

Sometimes in our attempt to protect people we end up denying them the ability to help us, and that ends up hurting them lots more in the long run.

How would you feel if she forbade you from helping her if the situation were reversed? If I had something one of my siblings needed and they said no I would no kidding slap them silly till they said yes.

Just my take on it.

Anyway you and your Sister will continue to be in our thoughts !!

well it is complicated.... we all know about blood types: A, B, O and AB..... and most of use know about Rh (positive and negative).... but from there it gets complicated.... there is a "D" antigen and a Kell antigen... and that is just the start. We all have HLA or haplotyte markers... it is how our body recognizes itself and rejects things that are not.... as I said it gets complicated...

This however is great news!!!!!!

Sister and I were scheduled to go in this Wednesday July 3rd for an evaluation to see if we were both healthy enough to undergo transplant. I have been out and about but started wearing down Thursday. By Sunday my fever spiked and I had to go to the E.R.. My white blood count was 69k this time. It should not be over 10k. The leukemia is back. So much for transplant now.

When it comes back this fast after the specific treatment I have had, there is no procedure to follow at this point. I should be starting a clinical trial Tomorrow and will now become a test Gorilla. If I do not get the clinical trial, they will start an off the shelf Chemo that has worked before.

This does not rule out transplant completely. If they can get me in a remission state for an allotted time, then transplant could become an option again.

Either way, I am back in the Hospital for another 30 days if either go as planned and I hold out that long.

This is one mean mutant in my body!
