I would like to check out your flat seat, if it is a flat seat. Got pics?

Project looks.... deep. You're fortunate to have nice original connectors in your harness. Panels look awesome. What was with the gold plate, was it a dealer option or just popular for LTD owners? I've seen a couple shelter lids like that.
To the best of my knowledge, the gold top lid was not a dealer option. You're a lucky man to have seen more than one like that, as this is the first one I've seen in gold. It sorta looks cool but being the "purist", I'll keep mine in candy root beer brown.

First for me too. Yep I like my original, but if it was in bad shape, as many are, this is a cool alternative. Not sure about the glare on a sunny day. Just talked with Al, and I think we have most of the needed parts within our group (think Alwing here - the guy is not just another pretty face)

Funny...My LTD was one of two bikes in my collection that ran and were drivable!!! All the rest were projects!! The nice thing about this build is there are 3 members on this build that own LTD's so references are good to go! And Al is an original owner of one of those! I'm stoked about this build action1
1975 GL 1000 "Street Fighter"
1976 GL 1000 "Screaming Yellow Zonker"
1976 GL 1000 Sulfur Yellow x2

1977 GL1000 Cirrius Blue
1977 GL 1000 Skidmark build

I've got several hundred pics I took as I disassembled mine. Everything in the pics is dirty as heck but plenty of reference material. I'm pumped too!

I'm watching them .......

Just bought the only other working bike in Al's collection (the 1200) so he can afford to spend some time on 993 ...... and because I've been lusting after the 1200 for YEARS .....
