3 more hours of progress tonight!
I got the oil filter installed.
Then I started to put my old forks on so I could get the front wheel on so I could install the engine without using a jack stand because the jackstand always gets in the way as your trying to slide the engine in and out of the frame on the jack!!
But I quickly realized I left the front axel at the bike shop!!

So I did it the hard way!
But I got it done! Torqued all the mount bolts down to the proper ft lb.
and then....

ATTACK OF THE NINJA GARAGE MONKEY!!
I lost the c-clip for the drive shaft! I have the spare from the '82 but that's where I stopped tonight

But she's IN!

Tonight's progress:
Heat shield installed
Carbs installed
Throttle cable installed (running with single cable)
Choke cable installed

I got the drive shaft c-clip on! I had to bend my PLYERS a bit!!

I also put the timing belt covers back on but I didn't take a pic

I got TONS of work done today..

I installed the airbox and the K&N air filter. Made sure my throttle and choke cables were okie dokie. they are perfecto!

finished everything on the handle bars.. front breaks are mounted, clutch lever is mounted, right and left control pods are in place (had to drill tiny hole in the bars for them), throttle twist is now in place and randakk's fantastic new grips are on! They're Italian! ;) oo la la
clutch cable is connected and I commented on FB.. IT'S REALLY TIGHT!!
it's not a routing issue.. I'll try and lube the cable but i truly think it's just the new clutch springs!!
THEY ARE REALLY STRONG! it's going to take getting used to.
the throttle cable feels GREAT. nice and smooth.. I don't know why i didn't switch to just one cable long ago.. i don't feel any difference.
if anything, it comes back just as fast if not faster. but that could be the fact that i rebuilt this carb rack much better than the last one.
I also installed my throttle lock for cruse control!!! :) love it!

ok what else... i got the gas tank back from the paint shop this week.. satin black.
installed the tank
while i was working on that i cleaned where the gas cap goes.. you can see the different color metal, it looks beautiful.
i also took off the gas gauge float and i clean around there too. I'm being super picky about EVERYTHING right now.

i ran the electrical harness around the tank.
i ran the gas drain down the side, i ran the coolant over flow tube down the other side.
i installed randakk's fuel filter. rebuilt the petcock.

Installed the battery box and connected all the wires to it and stuff
connected the starter cable, basically anything electrical i could connect... i did.

installed the radiator, fan and the new hoses and hose clamps.
they look sweet!

i cleaned up the key and mounted it back on the triple tree. i wish i had more time to relocate the key and also to re-wire some..
i would love to build the start button into the key like a car ignition.. but i'd rather RIDE than mess around with that now.
maybe next winter.

I feel like i did more today.. Oh yea!
i mounted the rear break pedal and switch but i took off the rear break caliper so i could clean it up.
i think the rear master break cylinder is leaking.. i have the one from my '82 i can swap it with if that's the case.
i'll check it out later.

ok so now some pictures.. :)
There's no real order. Today was just WORK WORK WORK.. and then when i was done i took photos.
I messed around with my seat a little at the end of the day and put it on just for fun.

Looking real good. You are getting it together quick. Wish I could be as motivated as you. I looked at mine today.

I need a little help please..

I seem to have lost not one but 2 of the outer axle spacers that go in between the caliper bracket and the swingarm.

I can't find the part number but I found a pic on the GoldwingDocs web site.

Anyone know where I can get one?
Amazon is always my fav.

In the mean time, I cleaned and inspected the rear caliper. Moved perfectly. No rebuild needed. I have a leaky rear master cylinder so I'll swap it with the '82 later.
I greased the final drives and hung the rear wheel in place. Bolted my shocks up and took a pic!

My favorite tool lies upon your brand spankin' new seat in that last pic. I have a special name for it . . .
If there is one thing I have learned throughout this process it is this: Check your respirator for spiders before you put it on.

SlyDogJeff, what kind of tire did you mount on the rear? I'm just checking for comparison because I put on a Continental Attack set on mine. Yours looks similar.

Rear Master Break cylinder is shot.. The boot was filled with GUNK and GOOK.
I need to get a rebuild kit or a new one. I'll check which is cheaper.
The one from the '82 is rusted. So that's not an option.

I put in the Battery and BAM!
I wired in the new Koso Mini Ditigal LCD Display Meter
it works great so far.
Here is what I have tested
Head Light, high / low beam
turn signals (not flashing but the switch works and they turn on)
neutral light works.
I'm pretty sure everything is wired correctly.. it's pretty easy to follow the Honda wiring diagram and the Koso one.
