Very nice work so far and interesting concept.
Bikes at present:

83 XL 600r with a 2004 XR650L engine
And a slightly worse for the wear BMW GS adventure bike awaiting repair

Ok... Ive been working alot lately so not much time for the project. I did manage to get a start on the tank. The old bottom and tunnel has removed, new tunnel and bottom tacked in, front fillers starting to take shape. Fillers are not done but this will give you an ideal on what Im going for...... thoughts?

Looking good and great "skills" also.... Have you got a fixing/mounting idea that might need to be incorporated in, at this fabrication stage??

yea. a few ideals right now. Mainly thinking a thumb screw in the front and clips in the back to make tank removale easy

Why is it whenever I try to work with sheet metal it ends up looking like the work of a five year old with blunt scissors? Nice work.

well... I am a sheet metal worker/ welder by trade. A little over 12 years of working with metal. Thanks for the complements guys.

Final drive cover. This was the first attempt. final product will be better. 3/8 polycarbonate next to original.

just got my custom throttle and clutch parts in the mail. Finally found a fuel filler I liked so I ordered that. Trying to decide between flat drag bars or low rise. Hopefully more updates soon

got my fuel filler/cap in the mail today. Already modified it. Cut the filler tube down where the fuel hose usually connects and drilled a small vent hole for it to breath. This is a marine fuel filler cap, all ss steel, pop up cap with key. Now to modify the tank to get it mounted up.
