The simplest way (for nut-on-bolt applications) is a self-locking or "nyloc" nut. They look like an acorn nut (crimped at the top) but they're open... Pressed into the top is an un-threaded sleve of nylon (or delrin) that is compressed by the threads as you tighten the bolt. They're used in critical and semi-permanent applications.
If you're talking about a bolt-in application, loc-tite is always an option. Make sure the mating surfaces are clean and dry. Use the blue stuff (red bottle) for semi-permanent adhesion and screw-type fasteners. Use the red stuff for permanent or hex-head and cap-screw fasteners.
-Deek
[EDIT] I forgot; if you want a truly permanent fastening method and don't have access to a welder, you can use JB weld instead of loc-tite on the threads. It's really permanent; like, you'll never get them apart ever again. BEWARE!!! [/EDIT]

And I want to thank the poeple that have given me great advice and help me find the parts I've been looking for to finish my SportWing! But I would like to post a few pictures of before and after but I'm don't know how to do that. Can anyone help?

Frankenstein is almost alive
Hey everyone. Spent the last 3 weekend days working on Frank. Here's a link to my website so you can see his progress. God this is fun. We spent the whole last day working on the chin spolier made mostly from a Rite Aid shopping cart and computer cases!! Next weeks photos will show that. http://monstermarketing.org/Examples_of_our_work.html
A weed blower blower? What?!! I thought I was nuts. Dude you are truly a visionary. I cant wait to see how that build goes. People are freakin out watching me do this build. Wanna hear something wierd. We found a stamp on top of the fork tube that reads "Goldwing by Frank"
One last thing. Has anyone out there figured out how to go wide tire without turning the motor sideways?

Would it be considered off the wall to remove the carb rack from a '78 Wing and replace it with a CC intake and Weber progressive carburetor?
Or has that become sorta commonplace and blaza (spelling there?).

Personally I'd think that was a pretty good setup. A few folks have used that including one of Randak's experiments if I recall correctly. If I hadn't stumbled on a complete CI kit I was thinking of going there myself since I've had such good luck with that carb in the past.

Ooooohhhhh... Red and silver. Sounds like a winner!jeffschnase wrote:candy apple red with silver tribal graphics and briight red pin striping. Soory about the pics. I didn't know.
For pics on the web, decide what size you want them to display and then resize them to those dimensions with a photo editor. Resizing them by putting height and width values in the img tag only shrinks their display size, not their file size.
Can't wait to see her painted!
