Like I said, life has been nipping me in the tail the last few weeks. The biggest nip was on July 5th when my brother and his wife were out for their anniversary of their first date. They were riding his 2004 Honda CB 919. They had a drunk driver turn into their path and my brother had no reaction time. The skid mark was only 7 feet long until impact. He and his wife went over the hood of the car. He has two broken wrists, a broken ankle, and a huge bump on the back. My sister in law had a torn ACL, MCL and broke her Tibula in her left knee. :( They are at home and recovering. ;)

Below are a couple of photos of his bike and the scene of the accident.

The good news is I now have a donor bike for some parts. I like the headlight and the housing, the front brakes seem to be intact, so I am thinking the lines and the master cylinder. I will also check on some other parts that may be of use next time I go to see him. crossy.gif

What a shame ... injuries were bad enough, glad to hear they are home and recovering.

I had the same question for my '75 and some kind member sent me this diagram. I still got it wrong! The main trunk of the loom goes inside and the tentacles come out through the openings.

Yahoo! Two days in a row where I could get in the shop and turn a few wrenches! Let's see... Progress! I have started reassembly of the carbs, but ran into a few snags with Idle Adjustments Screws that need replacing. I have also seemed to have misplaced a needle valve. All parts are on order and should be here by Thursday! dancr So for now, the Carbs are on hold.

I stopped by the auto parts store and picked up the plugs and the oil. I have new oil filter, air filter, and coolant already on hand. When the parts for the carbs come in, I am hoping to fire that thing Thursday evening!

More about the progress tonight. Forks have been cleaned and somewhat polished. I have done as much as I can do by hand. Well at least for one sitting. lolol So the forks have been reinstalled and the handle bars have been added. I have reinstalled the wheels with the old tires for the time being. I have to service the Victory Vision before a trip next weekend and I needed to clear the lift. I am ordering tires on Monday. Does anyone have size and brand suggestions? I have prepped the swing arm for a larger tire, so please feel free to let the suggestions fly! ;)

Right now my goal is to have the wiring squared away, order the tires, and service the Vision on Monday, I am hoping the UPS man is good to me on Wednesday and I get the parts in. If so, Wednesday will consist of Carbs assembly and installation. If all goes well, I will give it a quick fire to see if she will run. If she does, then I will pull the tires back off and wait on the new ones. Check the brakes and should be good to go for the first ride by the end of the month. (just because life has been kicking me while I am down lately! :IDTS: ) I am hoping for two weeks. dancr

Before anyone asks, I used Randakk's Master Carb Kit with the video. Let me tell you, that was awesome! I had rebuilt the carbs before I parked it (it was the reason I parked it!) and they have not worked right since. I now know why! The air jets were in the wrong spots! The video is well worth the money and time to watch. I highly recommend it if you are planning to tackle the carbs yourself. I have no reason to think they will give me any trouble in the future.

So, onto more photos! crossy.gif

I keep forgetting how big I am until I see a photo of myself next to something or someone. I am 6'4" and 295 lbs. I tend to make things look small.

Yea, you make the bike look small....if I took the same shot, you'd wonder who the midget was. :)

It's coming along nicely....won't be long and it will be up and running!

Perfect timing to ask about the wiring harness.
I'm just at the "transfer the harness to the powercoated frame" in my project.
Excuse the mess. Let me know if you'd like a specific shot.

I am getting so close now! I need a diagram on how to wire the Dyna Coil. :IDTS: It has been 15 years since I took it apart and my memory is not what it used to be. Any help?, crying1
