UPDATE to another GL1000 build..."Therapy"
Hello all!
Well its been a long time since I have updated the progress on my bike. Extremely busy summer but finally have had some time to finish up my build.
Just finished painting the covers in hot rod flatz. Turned out pretty good.
Lots of carb adjusting and troubleshooting with the dual weber setup. Idles like a champ but stumbles a bit when laying on the throttle at 40 plus mph. Not sure what the issue is but at least it is running well.
Looking at seat options. Dont laugh at my "attempt" to upholster my own cover. Its temporary until I look at local options.
Have some decals on order. Putting a large white Honda decal on the tank covers and a retro number decal on the side covers. Overall pleased with the progress

If that's your first attempt at a seat that's not too bad. A little hint. Use leather/vinyl that has about 1/4" of foam attached to it. That way the roughness of the foam seat part doesn't show through. It will look smooth.

Good to see you back, Mark. Wondered how you've been since you haven't been here a while. I agree on the pretty good for first attempt comment. That's a nice tip there about the foam, Robin. Straight from the wife?
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

Good to hear from you Mark, I've also been wondering how you've been doing.
Glad to hear you have been busy.
Bike is looking great, love the flat black, gonna look good with the retro decals.
Nice lines on the seat as well, coming along fabulous

(UPDATE) Another GL1000 build..."Therapy"
It has been a long time since I have updated you all on my build. Here is a picture from yesterday of my "official" first ride.
Any suggestions would greatly help.
I have ridden it only a few times cause honestly I have been chasing fueling gremlins with the dual weber setup. It idles perfectly and have synced everything at least a dozen times. However, when I lay on the throttle hard, she seems to bog down. Was wondering if some short velocity stacks inside the air filters would help? I have played with the accelerator pump screws (turning in and out) and it does not seem to make a difference. My tank was in pretty poor shape originally and I did clean it pretty well. I was going to run a full tank of gas through to see if the performance improves. I literally only have about 40 minutes of actual driving time on the bike.Any suggestions would greatly help.

Re: Another GL1000 build..."Therapy"
Good to see you've gotten it out! I can't help at the moment...mine hasn't run yet with the Webers to even know what direction to have you turn. But to clarify, you currently do not have any stacks under your air filters?
Someone smarter on the subject will hopefully see this. You could also try posting in the unique carb section...
Also, did you adjust the headlight, or are you looking for folks hanging around in trees?
