it had a purpose. Plus I need to purge out the winter left over gas. It really did make a difference. The bike got noticeably stronger as the miles went on.

Got Layla out of winter slumber. I doubt she'll see two tanks of fresh fuel today, but we will be smashing some bugs! Been WAY too long...

Gave Layla a quick cleanup in prep for a memorial ride for one of my stepson's friends who died in a car crash last week. Over 70 bikes, mostly 'squids' and stunters, so we kind of hung back... It was a nice event, overall.

On another note, this was the last public appearance for Layla fully dressed. She's going to get naked for the upcoming spring Slimey Crud Run the first Sunday in May!

I have to say I was kind of delusional thinking I could get Layla nekkid that soon, especially considering the non- motorcycle projects that need attention around the 'stead. I'm hoping to button up the fork job on the 1200, empty out the shop, and get some permanent fixtures and tools set up to ease the space limitations.

I replaced the ignition switch on my 1975 GL1000. Over a year ago I turned the key and it was dead. Finally fixed that. Now I need a new battery and to get it started again.

Started reassembling the forks on the 1200. While waiting for the parts order, knocked out some non- motorcycle projects, then a few life issues cropped up. One thing I forgot to check at the beginning of this was the service limit of the springs. Ugh! Now it's another waiting game...

Nothing today. Yesterday I washed up the big bike and took the better half down to Pungo where the farm stands are. Got a quart of monster Strawberries and back home. While I was rumbling around the shed I checked the oil change schedule for the 1800. I must have missed documenting one. According to my sheet it had not been done in 10,000 miles. I am fairly certain I would not let that happen. I really suspect I forgot to log it. Anyway she is done now and I think that catches everything up. Been an oil change kind of week. 3 bikes and 1 Truck and one Jeep.

75 GL 1000. After replacing ignition switch I turned the bike over for the first time in a couple years. Fuel line busted, fixed that. Checked everything over. Now it starts and is ready to roll!

3 of my bikes were overdue for State Safety Inspections. Have not touched the Fulmer bike or the 75 in weeks. Went to fire up the Fulmer Bike and she did a lot of burping and farting etc but never achieved idle. Then I smelled gas. Turns out the float or float valve on # 3 is stuck. Electric fuel pump and as soon as I turn the key I see gas flowing in the plenum from # 3. I pushed her to the side for another day. Then I did a quick inspection and topped off tires and such then got Inspections done on the 75 and the 08.
Also asked just on chance if my parts guy had the seals for the front of the 1200. He did not. Cam seals are easy, same as the 1000 and has several alternates. The Crank Seal is a whole nother problem. Honda quite carrying them years ago and it appears nothing else in the world uses the same size. I am not certain I need it but something up front is leaking a bit. If anyone has a lead I would appreciate it. Part number 91201-MG9-003 superseded by 91201-MG9-005 Size 35x59x8
