does anyone know a way to lower the rear end on a 76 gl1000 without getting shorter shocks? :roll:

yes,my friend central lowered his wing without buying different shocks..

will try to find them in wingmans lounge...

or look in lounge for bandannas ride..............................

I have seen lowering blocks as well. They attach to the lower attachment point (on the swing arm). They set the bottom of the shock back a couple of inches.

Here's what you do:

get your self a set of wheels from a thing like you see in the
foreground here:

put them on a thing like you see in the background

Presto...you have lowered the rear end on a 76 gl1000 without getting shorter shocks!!!

yes , I've seen pictures of the lower blocks you mention Frenchy , but I hear they stopped making those years ago , Now I may be wrong there ,. would you know ? ( Z )

I don't know what it would run, but I bet you could find a machine shop to wip you out a oair..... :idea:

Frenchy , You wouldn't happen to have a closeup pic of those bottom lowering mounts would you ? I found a pic of a gentlemans GL with that lowering block on the right side , not a very clear pic though , but this is that lowering block anyways on the driveshaft side .
