RIP Cookie 1950 - 2011

#1

Post by Cookie »

Cookie died early Sunday evening after a brief and brave struggle with a bitch of a disease. He wasn't ready - the ride was entirely too short, and there were still bikes to work on - but it was time, and he's at peace now. I'll miss him hugely - I know most of you will as well.

I've attached a couple of photos for you:
1. Final visit to the garage; very poignant as he went around and looked at each of his bikes one last time. That's yellow (of "so a guy walks into a chat room" fame) that he has his hand on.

2. It wasn't only bikes that were worked on in the garage. Every year he was the guiding light behind the "Christmas Train" which involved hours of work stringing and mounting festive lights on one of our local commuter trains which made a "Toys-for-Tots charity run every holiday season.

Thanks guys - you were so important to him.

Christine

So this guy walks into a chat room...and makes friends with everyone there, lights up the place, and then leaves far too soon.

That was very well said Brant. I know he really enjoyed doing the Christmas train. Even though it was a lot of work. We will miss him a lot.
