Floor Boards

#1

Post by forstir24u »

Hey is it me or does the floor boards on a 83 aspencade not fit right. It seams as when I put them up to the bike ( I haven't installed them yet) that they are towards the front way too much. My feet will be under the engine and the gaurds will always be in the way. Am I looking at it wrong? is there a specail way of installing them? Help me out people. Someone must have a floorboard kit on thier wing. I look forward to your response and comment. Thank you all ..................Wingleader

Yes My Friend , those floor bourds are a bit forward as you say , but there is a offset that can be purchased that bolts up where it sets back that heel toe shifter for that reason . Now I'm not sure as to where to find it , I lost alot of info just before joining this great site , but given some time I can look it up . I'm a we bit smarter now here in that I am saving all info I find to disc to help out and or just to find info faster . Hope this helps somewhat .

Agree Z, I think you need a heel toe shifter to operate
your gearing forstir24u. Maybe Timber can help you,
I think he has a heel toe shifter some place in the garage. ;)

Hi forstir24u.
Maybe i can help you with your floorboard problem. I have a complete set of boards. You need the shifter that fits the board system. If not ,no place to put your feet under the engine.
If you want them, please tell and we can arrange something.
If you just want the shifter you can have it. I used it on my 1980 GL 1100 and i and i think it will fit your 83 mod. crosso

JC Whitney makes a floorboard set with heel/toe shifter. Ihave these on mine and will be removing them when I get the forward controls done. there is a pic in my album in the Wingman's lounge entitled "working on the Wing.(Blackgold) It's not the greatest picture, but should give you an idea.
