hi i am having gret dificulty getting an alternator rotor for my 1979 gl1000 can anyone tell me where to get one in the uk i can get the alternator without much problem but the rotor seems to be like catching a ghost ?thanks :cry:

Are you sure that it's the rotor you need? Most Wing alternator failures are cause by defective stators, that's the part with the wires coiled around it. The rotor is one solid hunk of round metal that's magnetized.

hi, the alternator is faulty but one of the magnets is broken off of the rotor and another on it's way out

Dave Silver Spares (01728 833020) is advertising a new generator rotor and stator assemblly for £149 plus VAT and P&P.

Thanks for getting back central. I'll ask around and see if someone has and let you know. Only problem is that I'm in North America and shipping might be steep.

hi, guys thanks to bandana i have ordered an alternator and rotor from dave silvers at a cost of £145.00 +vat and postage now that i am in debt i can move on to something else on the wing.
