Vacuum cap buttons now in stock

#1

Post by pistolpete »

Hi Guys,

My stock of buttons have arrived and they are beautiful.
NGW members can get four installed by PPS for $50.00 and return shipping.

Email me at ngwoffer@gmail.com
And use "Buttons" in the subject line.

Let me know how many sets of 4 that you are sending.

Awesome Pete!!

This fall I will be sending a set to you!!

Would do it sooner, and might, but want to ride it!

Excellent price. If only only I could get my caps off without pulling my carbs. :-?

You can get them off without pulling the carbs completely. Just remove the air filter housing. Take the 8 mounting bolts out. And move the carbs from side to side to remove the caps. No need to remove the cables even. ;)

After posting the above, I thought to myself, "I wonder if I took off the tube nuts and took out the air box if I could get to them....? Nah...probably not" Doh!!

Thanks, Robin. I think I'll do just that and send them to Pete. I glued one of those caps back down with some super glue two years ago after the center of it popped up a bit. It's held just fine but, now I can refresh them all. Thanks for the heads up.

How do you replace them? Are the old ones busted out and new ones re-rolled using the aluminum of the cap back in like the factory ones?

This is one of those things where you don't ask. Just send them in if they need it and get back nice new usable ones. ;)

Knowing Pete's work I doubt anything is "busted out".
