Auction Score

#1

Post by Lucien Harpress »

A local motorcycle shop near me recently closed up, and this weekend they had an auction to clear everything left out. Now, between the clearance sales in the weeks prior and (I'm assuming) the family taking what they wanted, pickings were pretty slim. Sure, there was a lot of stuff left, but it was either junk, went for too much (full-shop air compressors, pneumatic lift tables), or not worth my time (lots of spare parts bins- I had no time to cross-reference part numbers).

Despite that, I managed to snag this beauty for $100.

It's something I've wanted for a while. I've gotten by with center stands up until now, but I'd just got paid, and I this is more than nice to have.

There was a Goldwing poster I had my eye on as well (it traced the entire history of the line, from '75 up until the mid '00s, framed), but we were already 4 hours into the auction at that point, and it wasn't even half-way done. If I wanted one that bad, I could find one new for cheap. Still, auctions are fun to check out anyway, and you cap it off with a Michigan State football win, and I'd call that a pretty good day. action1

That looks better than the POS I got from Harbor Freight.

Jack looks good.

I bought the Harbor Freight model several years ago. Found out it is not good for motorcycles, but comes in handy for lawn mower and my four wheelers.

Check out this poster. If it's the one you wanted, I'll ship it to you free. It's not in a frame. I have had it sitting by my dresser for years. Don't even know where I got it. My wife would thank you. She's tired of cleaning around it.

PM me your address if you want it.
