Keith wright frame mod

#1

Post by doubleminded »

I have posts here from other members, and have some too small pictures of wright's original wild wing.I know an expert welder.I can not tell from the old pictures what is cut out and how the new frame section is constructed.I assume the modified fat bob tanks would just camouflage the stock shelter. If i could get that figured out i could do the rest.

The modified tanks are functional on the original KW bikes. The modifications to the rear frame preclude using the original under-seat tank. You might find some better photos in SunnBobb's gallery, as he owns one, but I'm not sure.

Rodger, RCMATT has one too, I think. I think he posted a few pics a while back.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

If I have to get rid of the original tank I am not interested.I was thinking about camouflaging the original shelter.I found 2 tank sides for a 1500 suzuki I was going to try using to do that.I am sure glad I asked you guys.So back to my original plan.My bike will not be unique, but it will please me.

Many thanks to whoever sent the old posts to me. The bike or possibly bike(s) i am getting one is 82 one is 84. I read a thread on the net goldwing models to avoid. 78,79,84,85,01 thru 05. 84 and 85 goldwing fails with fuel injection.i thought it was 87 and back to carbs in 88. Ive owned 11 wings.8 oldies and 3 1500s.plus a valkyrie. The tubes going straight back, connecting to a new battery box causes questions.a fatbob harley tank, or vulcan or whatever usually straddle a single backbone round tube. The stock tank is removed and the battery moves from the left sidecover to there.the electrics inside the stock shelter i bet are hard to relocate. I didnt see what was fabbed as a seat pan or mounting point.dang i love wings.i am a wingnut.fortunately my next door neighbor is a retired master welder.my son is good but he is 1200 miles away.next door is closer. I will be going single carb.
