Head Oil Orifice
Does anyone know if the oil orifice in the head of the four cylinder Wings is the same? The part number changes for the 1200's. I may have mixed up 1100 & 1200 parts or lost one. They all use the same o-rings. I don't want to screw up the oiling in my 1200 project. Or maybe someone can measure the hole diameter and overall length for a 1200 orifice???
Thanks for any help in advance

Re: Head Oil Orifice
The 1200 has a larger inner diameter, so it should flow more oil. I compared the 1000 and 1200's on my hybrid version- 1000 heads on a 1200 block. I would get the right ones. They might be able to be drilled out.

Re: Head Oil Orifice
The 1200 has hydraulic valves right? I would think that having the right size orifice is critical in that case.

Re: Head Oil Orifice
As best as my measurements showed, the outer dimensions were the same and as mentioned orings are the same. I was just looking at my old post on this and the pics are gone now, but the 1000 had a set of crossdrilled holes in them also.

Re: Head Oil Orifice
Nice Pic's. The one's I have with crossed drilled holes have the smaller orifice. Are you positive the 1000's have the cross drilled holes?? I have both styles.

Re: Head Oil Orifice
Yes. As Whiskerfish mentioned, the 1200 had hydraulic valves and probably needed the additional oil flow. I have 1000 heads on my 1200 and I think it gets plenty of oil. I can't vouch for 1100 heads, but if the part numbers are the same---

Re: Head Oil Orifice
How does that work 1000 heads on a 1200? any different jetting or timing involved? Are you using 1000 oil orifices?

Re: Head Oil Orifice
Yes. A few changes needed, biggest being valve reliefs on the pistons. I love it. Is it better than a stock??? Gotta adjust valves every several thousand. I haven't ridden a stocker to compare. Using 1200 carbs, it ran good with the 1000 heads(77). Using 77's required some tweaks. Read Schizoid build. You'll see --- I don't know what I'm talking about, but guys here get me back in line.
