Pictures up in the Wingman's Lounge (finally) of my ride. Still have a bit to do, but I took if for a quick test run last night. Got to fix that leaky tach cable seal  Sorry for the dark pictures, don't know why I took them in the shade, will take some more in the next few days.

They're 'Screaming Eagle', not sure if they were off a Softail or Sporty. Bought for $25 at a swap meet. I had to turn one of the tabs that hold them on around.

Shocks from Ebay also...they were listed as 11" lowering shocks. I had to remove the inner eye liner from the top rubber to get them to fit (just like I hear you have to do with the Progressives) and had to use a big washer as a spacer, as they are a touch narrower than the stock on the top mount. They were $99 plus shipping. They are made by Forsa with the brand name MDI. Here is a link to the seller's Ebay store, maybe they have more... http://stores.ebay.com/ClassicCyclePart ... viewQQtZkm

Do a search on Ebay for 'dog bone risers' or 'chopper risers' and you will find the dog bones...they come in 6" most commonly, but I kept my eye open for the 4".

With my prgressives I did manage to use that tight inner rubber shim , what I did was cut around the inner rubber that goes on first a shamvfer , and aplied a bit of grease and pressed them on with a C clamp . And if you are short on funds , for a lower shock is take apart the top , unthread the sock shaft from the eye bolt , cut what you need off , rethread that end that was cut thread it back on , But don't forget tpo take the same off the coil also . This is what a fellow had done to his GL 1000 for lower shocks . I did my shocks that way and was told thats how the fellow did with his shocks .
Just two cents Gents :)

I tried that Zryder, and I didn't feel confident in its safety. Because the top of the coil seats your spring; there is nothing preventing the top of the coil from riding up over your shock tower once this is removed, because you've removed the washer-like spring that the coil itself seats on. I just didn't feel safe with the setup, so I went with the new shocks. The old ones looked rusty anyway 8)

On a different note, I need new front brake lines (lower). Honda wants $54 CDN each for them...ouch! Anyone have suggestions for an alternative? I came across a few used sets on Ebay, but they seem as bad or worse than the ones I have.
