Are these the steps necessary to change 78 Goldwing motor into a 1975 motor. It seems rather straight forward but I want to make sure.
1.Replace 78 carb set with 75 carb set.
2. Replace cams or do you have to change the heads as well? Can I measure the bearing wear to make sure the cam bearings are within spec?
3. Change the mechanical advance unit
4. Mark new timing marks on crank to correspond with the 75 timing specifications.
Have I missed anything?

+ 1 on above.
Also, keep the 78 heads. They have better oil grooves in the cam "bearing" surface. I've noticed there is much less scuffing of this surface on the later heads vs. the early ones.
